Kabbalat Shabbat and enjoy a
community Shabbat dinner at the JCC!
In Tevet (Dec. 27th – Jan. 24th) we will deepen our understanding and our
experience of tefillah, Jewish prayer. Enrich your prayer lives through learning or
deepen your skills by leading davening beginning. As you kindle the flame in your
heart, make your voice be heard as we come together at the JCC for Kabbalat
Shabbat followed by a potluck dinner.
On Shabbat, January 14th, after kiddush in the Small Sanctuary, we will
deepen our learning and touch upon our experience of tefillah, the most
transformative practice of Jewish religious life. Rabbi Berg will facilitate our
community learning.
Community and Connection: Kabbalat Shabbat and Potluck Dinner at the JCC
on January 20th – come and celebrate Shabbat through music and song. Let your
voice be heard at our participatory Kabbalat Shabbat service followed by a delicious
community dinner. See the flier for details.
Sunday Tefillah Learning: Sunday, January 15th: For beginning and
intermediate daveners seeking to improve your personal proficiency in tefillah skills.
Sunday, January 22nd (for advanced daveners seeking to learn to lead services) –
both classes will meet 10:30 – 12:00 in the Small Sanctuary after morning minyan.
Mentors and davening partners will be discussed.
Tefillah Beit Midrash: Rabbi Berg will assist you with questions, provide
assistance or serve as an audience to your burgeoning davening skills in the Hebrew
School area between 4:15 – 5:30 on Tuesday, January 24th and January 31st.
